Mary J. Blige has opened up a women's center in New York for the battered and abused. For years, she's had songs and conducted interviews where she talks about her past dealing with drugs and abusive relationships so to see that she is reaching out to help other females that have been in similar situations shouldn't go unnoticed.
ReplyDeleteWhile I am happy that celebs like Mary, Erykah Badu, & Lil Boosie, lend their "celebrity" to bring awareness issues such as abuse. & self esteem and healthcare I also feel we ALL have to do our part for communities. SO…. For all those that didn't get the memo Yours Truly has been on a "NO CURSING FAST" from 10/30/09 and will end 11/6/09 (I gotta crawl before I walk) I encourage you to peep my (vlog- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FZtkzn3N6w) about the fast but in a nutshell for each curse word I say within that time period GL will donate $.25 (currently at $32.25) which I will give to a charity of my choosing.
Now here's the contest: FIRST YOU MUST BE A FOLLOWER OF MY BLOG… Trust me, your email address WILL NOT BE USED NOR WILL YOU RECEIVE SPAM (for each follower GL will donate an additional $.25 up to $100… That aint all… SECOND (again.. you must be a follower of my blog) because I'm in the giving mood….in the comments section please tell me what you should fast for and why. You can be extremely serious and heartfelt or you can be comedic. I'm looking for REAL & creative responses here! Again.. for each comment related to what you would fast for and why GL will donate $.25 for each comment up to $100. The contest starts today and ends on Friday, November 6th. I say remix that orange juice and make it some apple juice!! Learn from the mistakes of making orange juice and do it right this time. For yourself.
